  గగపపదదస.స. అను జంటలు, గగరిసదప, గరిసదప, గదపగరి, రిపగరిస అను దాటువులు ప్రసిద్ధ అలంకారములు. ప్రసిద్ధమైన రాగము. వ్యాప్తి చెందిన రాగము. వీరరసము కలిగిన రాగము. అన్ని రకములైన రచనలూ ఈ రాగమునందు రచింపబడినవి. అన్ని వేళలా పాడదగిన రాగము. కానీ రాత్రి పాడుట సమంజసము. శ్లోకములు, పద్యములు పాడదగిన రాగము. హిందుస్తానీ సంగీతంలో ఈ రాగమునకు “భూప్” అని పేరు.

• Mohanam is a Janya Raagam of Hari Kambhoji which is the 28th Melakartha raagam.
• Another school pf thought claims that it is the Janya raagam of Kalyani which is the 68th Melakartha raagam.
• It is an Audava Audava Upaanga Raagam (It has a pentatonic scale).
